Reading Rush 2019

Every year this readathon takes place, but this is my first time taking part, and I am very excited! The readathon is from July 22nd-July 28th, and there are prompts for seven books. I probably won't be able to finish all of them because I am an extremely slow reader, but I'm sure I'll have fun trying. Click here for the reading rush 2019 website. Here is what I plan to read for each prompt:

  1. Read a book with purple on the cover — Once Upon a Dream by Liz Braswell The cover of this book is mostly purple, and it's a twisted tale of Sleeping Beauty... You can't go wrong!
  2. Read a book in the same spot the entire time — Mockingbird by Kathryn Erksine I've had this book for years but haven't read it, despite really wanting to. It's really short and I'm hoping it will be a quick read.
  3. Read a book you meant to read last year — To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han I'll admit it; I'm guilty of watching this movie without having read the book. I really wanted to read the book first but I never got around to it, and the movie seemed so good I couldn't resist watching it. Now I want to catch up with myself and finally sit down and read the book.
  4. Read an author's first book — Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë Okay, I'm cheating a bit with this one. I started it a few days ago, but I'm just going to go with it because I don't want to stop reading it until the readathon is over.
  5. Read a book with a non-human main character — Ressurection (Book 10 in the Skulduggery Pleasant series) by Derek Landy I'm not 100% sure if this counts because the main character is a human skeleton, but again, I'm just going to go with it. I started reading Harry Potter really late in my life (a few months ago), so this series took the place that Harry Potter holds for many other people. After years of only having 9 books, Landy added another 3, and I, naturally, freaked out. So really, I suppose I could have had used this book for the third prompt as well.
  6. Pick a book that has five or more words in the title — Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix by J. K. Rowling This choice is a convenient one. I've been reading (and loving) the series anyways, so I got lucky that this book fits one of the prompts.
  7. Read and watch a book to movie adaptation — Little Woman by Louisa May Alcott The adapted version for young readers was my favourite book when I was younger, and now I finally have the actual version. I can't wait to read it!

Note: not all of the books I mentioned are in the picture because I am reading them as an ebook.
